I’m a proud mom of two beautiful daughters, Emily and Charlotte. Outside of my family, running is my biggest passion in life. I ran my 20th marathon in 2020, where I ran the Virtual Boston Marathon in my hometown of Minneapolis, MN. I run for the Oiselle Team and am currently training under Becki Spellman, a 4x Olympic Trials qualifier. I have improved so much over the years as a runner, but I truly believe my strongest and fastest days are yet to come!
I’ve learned a lot about myself as a runner since my first marathon in 2009, of which I ran with very little training (let’s be real, I ran 9 miles the weekend before the race and thought I was ready). I didn’t know what a true training plan looked like, or how to do long runs. I didn’t know the importance of nutrition, or the importance of rest and recovery to fuel a run or prevent injury. I’ve learned a lot of lessons the hard way, so now as a coach my goal is to guide you in a way that you start your training doing all of the little things right.
As a mother runner myself, who is also working full time, I understand the complexities and responsibilities outside of your passion for running. Running should be fun, so if there is ever a time when you’re feeling like you’re juggling too much, we can work together to make sure your training is not lost while you might need to prioritize a different hat.
I’ll also share race recaps, nutrition advice, tips on running through the challenges that parenthood (and life!) brings, and the good, the bad, and the ugly of my personal marathon training.
